Did you just say “bone file”?

Well, my little bone fragment turned out to be not so little and not really a fragment either. It was actually a piece of my jaw that had poked through the gum tissue. To say that it was unpleasant to have it removed would be an understatement.

The most frightening part was when he asked the assistant to pass him the “bone file”. My eyes must have bugged out like crazy! I was thinking, did he just say bone file? After the terror had passed and the experience was over, I determined that there should be a rule for surgeons against asking for such instruments while the patient is conscious. They should develop some kind of hand signal to prevent unnecessary stress on the patient!
