House Update

Things have been coming along quite nicely in the house over the last couple of weeks. The upstairs bathroom is almost finished. It just needs a few finishing touches. I’ll wait to post a picture though until it is completely finished.

Christine picked a new color yellow for her scrapbook room and her and my mom put a couple of coats on during our recent heat wave. They were definitely a couple of troopers and the finished product looks amazing. The new yellow is much softer and warmer. The old one was just a little too bold. I have no doubt that the new color will spark her scrapbooking creativity.

And since tomorrow is Father’s Day, I thought I should give a special thanks to my dad who is number one in my book. While I had to work last Saturday for a few hours in the afternoon (during our record heat wave) my dad climbed into the basement crawl space to remove some wood that was discovered during inspection. When they poured the foundation many years ago, they neglected to remove the wood used to frame the concrete. He literally spent three hours in and out of a crawl space using a skill saw to cut the wood out in the 95 degree heat. The picture below is of all the wood that was removed. My timing was impeccable since I came home from my three hours in an air-conditioned server room just a few minutes after he had finished. He was covered in so much dirt and sweat I couldn’t even give him a hug to say thank you. So thank you again! To both you and mom! I don’t know how we would be getting anything done without your amazing help!

I should be posting some new pictures in a couple days or less. We took a trip up to Cannon Mountain today with Christine’s parents and even stopped at the Lupine Festival in northern New Hampshire. The pictures are downloaded, but I haven’t had a chance to look through them yet.
