Goodbye Month 8, It was nice to know ye.
And a happy hello to month 9. Wow, I can’t even believe it. 8 months may not seem like much and I’m sure I’ll be even more amazed when 8 years has come and gone so quickly, but it’s still hard to believe. She is growing up so fast I can barely stand it. She is becoming quite the little solid food eater. She has tried lots of veggies and fruits. We’ll be moving on to meat this month. The grocery list for some fun new baby recipes is already finished.
Helena is also thinking about crawling. She’s lifting herself up and stretching out in the crawling motion, but her weight seems to still be getting the better of her. We’re thinking there’s a good chance she’ll figure out how this month. She certainly has no fear and does not look before leaping or rolling so we need to watch her like a hawk so she doesn’t decide to crawl in a dangerous spot.
As you’ll notice by some of this weeks pictures, she graduated to the big girl bathtub. She let out one cry for about 5 seconds when she saw she was someplace new and then proceeded to kick and splash and laugh. No matter her mood, when it’s bath time she gets super happy and she’ll play even after the water is cold if we let her. Her mom might have gotten a little picture happy in the bathtub, but I think you’ll agree when you see them that she had her reasons. 🙂
We posted a bunch more pictures on SmugMug: Helena Month 8 – Part 2
Hope you enjoy those and the ones below. In one here on the blog you can see us fighting over a sock. We call her “Helena Sockov” because of her uncanny ability to take off any sock. She had just managed to get one off and was trying to eat it (as she usually does) and wasn’t too keen on me taking it away.
