11 Months!!

Christine and I can hardly believe it, but Helena is less than 1 month from being a year old! That’s right almost a year old!!! She has certainly been keeping us busy lately, but in mostly fun ways. She is not yet walking but she’s a speed demon on all fours. One of her favorite games is to head for the bedroom door and see if we can catch her before she hits the freedom of the hall and the perils of the stairs. The bedroom door stays closed 99% of the time now.

My favorite is playing hide and seek in her room. Either she hides or I hide but either way she gets really excited and giggly. She really likes to play that with her favorite animal, aka “Spotty”. He hides even better than me, but I think it’s because he’s smaller ;-). She’s also finally catching up to her peers in the ever important “tooth count” category. She’s cutting 2 right now and they don’t seem to be bothering her as much as they used to.

She is also still sleeping through the night so my last post didn’t jinx us. Gotta say that’s a major plus for me. Wouldn’t mind if she would sleep in past 5:30am on a regular basis, but I’ll take it if she doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night.

And not that anyone is interested in anything other than Helena, but just in case there are a couple people interested…Christine and I are not letting parenthood slow down our travels too much (most with Helena). We do have one summer trip planned that will just be the two of us. We’ll be heading to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. It will be a short trip with Christine’s parents taking care of most of the “Lena Sitting” while were gone. But even so, we are super excited for some hiking, some relaxing, and of course some picture taking (ok, who am I kidding…A LOT of picture taking).
