Day 2 – Just as Good as the First

Yesterday was just as good, if not better than the first. Rocky Mountain National Park is truly amazing. We took in Sprague Lake in the morning and were treated to a spectacular view with great morning light and our shutter fingers could not have been happier clicking away. Only problem was trying to wrestle the camera away from Christine. 🙂

Next we headed up Trail Ridge Rd to the summit and beyond and were treated to some spectacular vistas. At one of the stops I just happened to turn around and look up and there at the top of the mountain was a herd of elk just hanging out and enjoying a meal or a snooze. We got some pretty great shots considering how far up the mountain they were.

We drove the rest of Trail Ridge Rd and stopped for a couple short hikes and even got caught in a hail storm. We haven’t posted yesterday’s photos yet, but just to wet your appetite I’ve include a few in the post below.
