Great Birthday Weekend for CK
Last weekend was Christine’s birthday, as many of you may know, and she decided that a trip to the beach was in order since we could not remember the last time we had been (at least in New Hampshire). She picked an amazing day to go weatherwise. Not only was it a beautiful sunny day, but there were some great waves.
Given how Helena reacted the last time we went to the beach in South Carolina, we weren’t expecting her to really enjoy the water and given that it was a little cool in the morning, Christine decided that she didn’t need a bathing suit. Whoops! Not only did Helena absolutely love the water, the waves, and the Sand, she loved it so much that we couldn’t even keep her away so I could rest my back. We spent close to an hour running at the waves and then running away when they came after us all the while giggling as only a little girl can. She particularly enjoyed being swung up by her arms before the wave got her feet. I don’t know if we had ever seen her this excited and giggly for such a long period of time.
When daddy got tired of running around and his back could take no more we left the beach, under much protest, and made our way to the playground in Hampton, which was right on the boardwalk. After a snack and a diaper change, Helena decided that the playground could be fun too and she tooled around “toddler town” making friends along the way and doing some daredevil stunts on the slide (“Face first is okay, right dad?”).
We posted some pictures on SmugMug. Enjoy! We sure did.
