Birthday Celebration and More

Last weekend was my birthday weekend. Christine was nice enough to point out to me that I am now closer to 40 than I am to 30. I shall make a note to remind her of that fact next year. It ended up being a great birthday. We went out for Indian food with the whole family and my curry was the hottest that they could make it and it was delicious.

This weekend is a daddy daughter weekend because mommy is in New York visiting her sister. We are already off to a great start. After gymnastics we got to meet Santa and sit on his lap (well one of us sat on his lap). Helena also had her first experience at the Olive Garden. I was very proud of her for trying all sorts of new things, including the Zuppa Toscana soup, which according to the menu is spicy. According to my daughter it is not spicy and “I should make it every day”. She even opted for sausage instead of chicken in her pasta, which surprised me to no end. We had an absolutely lovely time. The only thing that would’ve made it better is if mommy was there.

The rest of the day will be rounded out by pizza cupcakes/muffins and a trip to Cold Stone Creamery so long as it is not snowing too hard. With a little bit of luck I will be able to shovel us out from the snow tomorrow and we can go sledding.
