Cape Cod!!!

I’m such a bad blogger… what can I say, it’s been a very busy two weeks! I finally got a chance to relax though this past weekend when Christine and I went down to Cape Cod (we even took a day off). My parents let us crash on the air mattress for a couple nights and we met Dani & Emerson (pictured below) for what turned out to be a biking weekend.

Our first destination was Martha’s Vineyard, somewhere that I’ve never been despite the many times I have been to the Cape. There are some absolutely beautiful biking trails on the island, including a beautiful ride along the Coast. Our only complaint about the ride along the Coast is that we wish we were on the other side of the road, the side that the beach was on because it would have allowed for more stopping. We put about 15 miles on our bikes and thoroughly enjoyed the perfect weather!

We put another 22 miles on our bikes the next day by riding the cape cod rail trail (starting in Dennisport). There is just something about riding that far that allows you to justify ice cream and French fries for lunch 🙂 Mmmmmm….

When you click on the pictures link, you may notice some interesting close-up pictures (like the one above) and more zoomed in pictures than normal. I’m impressed if you noticed!! There is a simple explanation… we have a new camera! But not just any camera, it is a Canon Digital SLR!!

Big deal right? Well, the interesting story is how it came into our possession…FREE!! That’s right! I don’t want to go into details about who gave it to me, but I must thank them for their extreme generosity (even though they probably won’t ever read this). We are still in the market for our own lens, so we are borrowing one right now, but we like it enough that we are considering getting the same one for ourselves.

The sheer number of accessories and the lenses for Digital SLR cameras is extremely overwhelming and is probably second only to the number of iPod accessories out there! So it might take a couple more weeks before we can make a decision on which lens is right for us.
