Last Hike?

We went for what might be our last hike of the year yesterday. We hiked Mount Starr King, which is way up north…a good 30 minutes farther north than we have ever hiked before.

This was our first official fall hike (ever). I can’t ever remember hiking any mountains around this time of year even though I’ve lived here most of my life. We both agreed that fall hikes are very different from the spring and summer hiking that we are used to. And that’s not just because of the leaves turning colors…which by the way were amazing!!! The mountain just had a completely different sound (or I should say lack of sound). We only saw a few people on our hike and it seemed like we were completely alone. Aside from the sounds of a couple birds and chipmunks it was so quiet that I swear I could hear the leaves falling!

This picture below is probably my favorite of the entire day! Look at the air she gets under her!

I may have a few more words to say about this last hike in a couple days, but since I am behind on posting pictures, here is a link to some of our more recent excursions (minus our hike yesterday).

I’m so jealous that you can hike. Dallas is FLAT and BORING.
