Philly – aka Phili-Hell-Phia (according to residents)
Before Easter gets here and it gets to be too many weeks since our trip to Philly to blog about it, I wanted to make sure I got some pics up here from the trip. We went to see our friends Dani & Emerson down in what Emerson refers to as Phili-HELL-Phia. Contrary to his name for it, we had a great weekend. I’m sure it’s was a more enjoyable place just for our being there.
They took us all over the place, including Longwood Gardens where we got a little picture crazy with the orchid exhibit. I hope to put a few of those up in a gallery in the next few days. Dani was a good sport, being the only person there without a camera or the desire to be in or take a picture. That’s why I included her 2 smiling pictures in the ones below! 🙂
In addition to the Longwood trip we also made an excursion to Delaware just because we had never been. Let’s just say that with some places, there is a reason you’ve never been and Wilmington was just such a place. If you’re ever thinking of a trip there, find a good detour route.
We also trounced Dani & Emerson in Badminton (you know it!!) Haha!!

Indeed, we had a great time. I don’t know about beating Dani and I in Badminton. If I remember correctly, Christine got pegged (unintended of course) and Doug almost lost the ability to have children… but we won’t get into that. : )I do remember cringing a lot and enjoying Dani scream like a 5-year-old Monica Seles as she swung, missed, and dodged ‘shuttle @#$%s.’ Did I also mention that our game was a lesson in ‘words people shouldn’t say in front of the neighbor’s 6 year old kid?’ Emerson
