Catching Up

It’s about time that I posted an update here. Christine and I have had a busy summer as usual. She has already traveled to Prince Edward Island with family for week with a stop in Acadia National Park for good measure. She took about 1 million pictures give or take a few and we have had a hard time sorting out which ones should be posted to smug mug. I think we are going to upload all of the good ones to one album and then Christine will need to choose her favorites of her favorites for people who don’t have three hours to look through photos. We’ll actually be off again soon for a national park tour out west. More on that in a little while.

We are always busy in the summer, but adding a house to the mix has certainly helped keep us a busy (not that we needed the help). It is really coming together though and we are excited to finish off the downstairs bathroom. One of our projects of the last couple of weeks was to put together all of the furniture that we purchased at IKEA. You can see from the two pictures below that we managed to get a lot of stuff, and we would’ve had more if certain things were in stock. We are actually pretty happy that stuff wasn’t in stock because we wouldn’t have been able to fit it in my mom’s car anyway. We’re hoping to make another trip soon. Hopefully I can post a couple of pictures of what we bought, but I can say that they are really helping make the house feel like home. And just for the record, those are two separate carts, not a picture of each of us standing in front of the same cart.

This past week was my mom’s “39th” birthday and as you can see in the picture below we celebrated with some Mexican margaritas.

And aside from all the busyness at home, I’ve been unbelievably busy at work. My company is actually moving to a new building, and I’m in charge of setting up the new network while still maintaining connectivity to the old network across four separate buildings. I’ve been working very closely with the construction crew to get the building finished and make sure that when people bring their stuff over it all works. I’m planning on spending a decent chunk of my weekend getting some more things finished (which isn’t too exciting). But at least so far after the first 20 people have moved we have had no major issues… knock on wood.

Great update – love the pic you took of Mom & Dad! I thought you might have put up a garden picture or two as well. Next time I guess 🙂 xoxo

cool update – I’m getting tired reading about all of your busyness! I think it might be a family trip to IKEA next time. The furniture looks GREAT!!! Love the wall unit in the scrapbook room. Have fun with the plumber this week and watching Rambo.
