On To Month Six

Reality is definitely setting in as we enter the sixth month. Those nine months are more important for the parents-to-be than for the baby, at least I think. You get little moments along the way that each serve to reinforce the idea in your brain that, ‘yes, we are going to be parents’. First it was the heartbeat and that super-fast wush, wush, wush. Then there’s the first ultrasound picture that resembles some sort of glowing alien like being (you can see the spine glowing). By the time we got to our most recent ultrasound (pictured below) we already started feeling the first few kicks. Right now, Smart Baby is kicking all of the time but is most excited during mealtimes or just after. We were convinced that she could smell the Subway subs last night because she started moving around before Christine even took a bite.

We think we’re going to have a feisty baby on our hands because the last time we were at the doctors office and the doctor tried to find the heartbeat, Smart Baby literally kicked the heart rate monitor so hard that it startled the doctor and she took a step back.

Below are a couple of pictures of Christine at 22 weeks and then 23 weeks.

Smart Baby looks fantastic! When you start to feel the actual movement it is the greatest feeling in the world! I’m SO excited for you both. Keep us current with your journey. Camden is excited to have a New Hampshire friend!
