Getting Ready for “B-Day”

That would be Baby/Birthday of our little bundle of joy. We are now just under 2 weeks until Christine’s due date of 7/11 and we are almost ready. We have the crib and the room put together. I think the only thing left is to get the hospital bag packed which we will hopefully start doing tonight.

I posted some pictures on SmugMug of our progress over the last couple months on the baby’s room. Quite a transformation if I do say so myself.

And last weekend (yes I’m still behind on the goings on) we had a baby shower for Christine and Smart Baby in NH. It’s really a shame we don’t get to see everyone more often, but we were so thrilled that they all came to celebrate. True to form there ARE some pics from the shower as well.

Christine is still doing great except for some swollen ankles and being a bit tired, but that’s to be expected. Spraining her ankle 2 weeks ago certainly didn’t help, but we had an “interesting” time at the ER getting her checked out. We had the pleasure of “chatting” with a very talkative and opinionated nurse who after taking a fetal heart rate that was 189 (she thought it was fine but it wasn’t) decided to pull up a chair to discuss names. We didn’t share but that didn’t stop her from running down her list of bad names. After 20 minutes of that I was ready for some pain medication but since they didn’t give anything to Christine, I was out of luck. 🙁
