Vacation Begins
Yesterday was by far the longest either of us has travelled for the shortest distance. After 14 hours yesterday we had still only made it 250 miles to NYC. But in that time we had taken off from MHT and landed there again and hour and a half later. We shuttled to Boston, flew to LGA (1 bag didn’t make it), bussed to JFK, got delayed over an hour, and finally flew to Denver (during which the flight attendant was nice enough to douse my legs with Diet Coke).
It was 12:15am local time when we finally got to the hotel (thanks Delta for a really nice place by the way, seriously!). That would also be 2:15am our time which means that we were 3 hours shy of a full 24 hours of traveling since we started at 5am.
And while I’m not thrilled with how long it took to get here, Delta was very reasonable. We got almost $50 in meal vouchers, a $58 flightline voucher, and a free night in a hotel in Denver. Almost everyone was very helpful and did their best to take care of us. I know Delta did not make any money on us though for all their efforts, but they did a better job making things right than I have come to expect from most other airlines (I’m talking about YOU Continental).
As soon as we get some chow and rent our car we are off to see the Rocky Mountains via a “Peak to Peak Scenic Byway“. Christine, of course, found this and it looks amazing. Our “shutter fingers” are just itching to take some pictures. More later…

All tucked in for the night. Nonna & Grandpa came over for a visit this afternoon. We went to IHOP for lunch.
By the time we got home Lindsay was here. Then Helena was off to Hillcrest to show off her walking skills. I napped while she was gone! She can definitely get on the truck by herself. Off is a little more difficult.
Talked to Emerson this evening. He was just calling to say hello to me and check out his rep, since Christy shared Bonquiqui with me.
Hope the ride was wonderful. Can’t wait to see your pictures. Click, Click, Click.
Sleep tight!!
